Guardia di Finanza (Customs Police)
From what I understand, they are administered by both the
defence & finance ministries and are considered a
military infantry formation. They thus have a Bandiera di Guerra
(Colours) like those of the Army & Air Force.
The site <www.guardiadifinanza.it>
lists these:
- Bandiera di Guerra della Guardia di Finanza
- Bandiera d'Istituto dell'Accademia
- Bandiera d'Istituto della Scuola Ispettori e Sovrintendenti
- Bandiera d'Istituto della Legione Allievi.

The Carabinieri are not (only) a military police, they are
best known for their police roles (judicial, public order and
security). There a short Carabinieri history in English at <www.carabinieri.it>.

There are news with regards to the presentation of a flag to
the Italian Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco (Fire brigade)
that took place sometime in February this year. The decree of 18
February 2005 in full (in Italian) is located at <www.interno.it>.
A short report is also available at the site of the Corpo
Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco at <www.vigilfuoco.it>.
I believe the flag is similar in some ways to the Bandiera di Guerra (Colors) of the army
units as observed from photographs.

Only the second paragraph in article 2 deals with the flag
itself: a 99cm square flag, made up of three equal pales
(vertical stripes) of green, white and red. The remaining
paragraphs in that article describe the finial
("puntale"), the staff ("asta"), the sash
("fascia") and the "cordoniera" (not exactly
streamers, rather aiguilette-like cordons, I have been unable to
find out the precise English term).
